My Story

Why Richmond
became home.

Before coming to Australia, I spent almost a decade living and working in Japan, progressing from school leadership to serving as a principal and later CEO within the international education sector.

Becoming a father changed everything. I started thinking seriously about the kind of country, education system and community I wanted my child to grow up in — safe, supportive and full of opportunity.

That search brought me to Australia, where I continued my studies and completed a Master’s degree in Education and Leadership at Queensland University of Technology.

Over the years, Richmond became home. I raised my family here, built businesses here, employed locals here, and experienced first-hand the pressures residents, workers and traders face every day.

I've lived the same rising costs, rental pressure, government red tape and community safety concerns that so many locals are dealing with.

I’m standing so Richmond’s families, workers, traders and older residents have a voice that does not disappear after election day.
Why I’m Running

Why Independent?

Because Richmond should come before party politics.

I’ve voted for political parties myself. I’ve supported different candidates and, like many people in Richmond, I’ve waited to see promises turned into results.

But too often, when something goes wrong, we hear the same argument — Labor blames the Greens, the Greens blame Labor, and everyone explains why somebody else is responsible.

I’m not running to add another voice to that argument.

I’m running as an Independent because I want the freedom to judge every proposal on one simple question:

“Is it good for Richmond?”

If Labor puts forward something good for Richmond, I’ll support it.
If the Greens do, I’ll support it. If the Liberals, another Independent or anyone else has a good idea, I’ll support that too.

But when something is wrong for our community, I want to be able to say NO — without asking a party room, faction or political boss for permission.

My Boss Is Richmond.

No party machine. No party line.

I’ll work with anyone who gets results for Richmond — and challenge anyone who doesn’t.

Safer Streets

I will push for stronger frontline policing and work for better lighting and practical action on crime and repeat offending to improve safety and confidence.

HOW I'LL DELIVER

Simple. Local. Fair.

I will push to cut unnecessary State red tape, simplify government processes and make government easier for residents and businesses to deal with.

HOW I'LL DELIVER

KEEP SHOPS OPEN. PROTECT JOBS.

I will back local traders, fight for investment and support the jobs that keep Richmond vibrant.

HOW I'LL DELIVER

Why I’m Running

Richmond deserves a representative who lives here, works here, employs people here and understands the challenges our community faces every day.

I will listen. I will act. I will deliver.

Why the Dragon and the Scales?

The emblem is personal. I was born in the Year of the Dragon and under the sign of Libra, but I chose these symbols for what they represent to Richmond: courage, fairness, accountability and balance. Those are the values I want people to remember long after the campaign is over.
